Seattle Center Monorail Station, Seattle, Washington, USA
Seattle’s monorail was built in 1962 to link downtown Seattle with the Seattle Center, the brand new park and arts and entertainment centre built around the Space Needle to the north of the city. And there, at the Seattle Center Station, in the shadow of the famous Space Needle, stands Monorail Man. He was made by the Seattle Monorail Services Maintenance Team from discarded monorail parts. His eyes are discarded station indicators. His hands are worn-out tyre assembly pins. His legs are station signals. His chest is an old 1, 500 Volt fuse. With the cables removed. And his feet are disused brake drums. All of which makes Monorail Man one extremely trashy individual.
